Request the three-album setBibliographical description
Histoire de Babar is the first state of the 1931 original edition, identified by the absence of the small elephant logo on the copyright page. Le Voyage de Babar is a later issue of the 1932 original edition and bears an inscription dated 2 September 1938. Le Roi Babar is the 1933 French original edition, very probably an early printing.
The colourful boards and elephant-pattern endpapers are present. The set remains visually powerful, but the bindings must be handled with great care.
The copy in detail
The main view has been isolated on an ivory background for a consistent presentation. The unedited documentary photographs remain the reference for the text, condition, defects and structure.
The original views show the item exactly as photographed, including hands used to support certain leaves.
